GMCVO is the support (infrastructure) organisation for the voluntary sector in the sub-region of Greater Manchester. Our aim is to strengthen the voluntary sector, build bridges with other sectors, and influence local and national policy. Our work is representing, promoting and developing voluntary organisations, working in partnership with other organisations doing similar work.

Greater Manchester's successful bid to the Future Jobs Fund could see the creation of up to 8,000 jobs for young people in the sub-region over the next 18 months. GMCVO estimates that around 750 of these jobs will be in the voluntary and community sector. GMCVO is the lead body for Greater Manchester Voluntary Sector Support. The GMVSS website portal provides resources and support services for the voluntary sector of Greater Manchester.
