Voluntary sector speaks out on Transport Innovation Fund proposals
Following 12 weeks of consultation, the Transport Resource Unit has produced a report detailing the views of the sector on the Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) proposals. Although the views are many and varied, broadly speaking there is a clear recognition that 'something needs to be done' about transport in Greater Manchester but also that there should be safeguards to ensure that voluntary sector services are not adversely affected.
During the course of the consultation, the Transport Resource Unit made contact with over 100 VCS organisations from across Greater Manchester through events, interviews, an online survey and other ad hoc contact.
The consultation report does not endorse or reject the proposals but makes recommendations on future involvement of the sector and on action which can be taken to lessen any potential negative effects to VCS organisations, staff, volunteers and service users.
