GMPTE have launched this year's guide to public transport over the festive period. This year there will be buses running on key routes in most areas on Boxing Day and New Year's Day but for more detailed information please check with the individual bus operator or contact Traveline on 0871 200 22 33.

This year also sees the return of a Christmas shuttle service on the East Lancashire Railway line, running between Bury and Heywood stations, served by one of the East Lancashire Railway's heritage diesel units.
