Jack Hale

Founder-Director. arch+ways arts consultancy+projects

Jack Hale is an arts manager with established expertise in organisational development and fundraising. He founded arch+ways in 2008 as an independent consultancy having previously been Head of Development at Manchester's architecture centre gallery CUBE. He has experience of leading art, photography, craft and design, architecture and community based companies and projects.

Whilst Head of Development at CUBE, Jack led the funding strategy, significantly increasing funding from Arts Council England as well as other trusts and foundations (Henry Moore Foundation, RIBA Competitions) and managing commercial sponsorship. Within this period, CUBE developed a strong exhibition programme and an improved reputation, increasing visitor numbers and press coverage and significantly increased financial support. Jack also secured internationally renowned architect Norman Foster as Honorary Patron.

Previously at Manchester Crafts and Design (2001 - 2007), Jack restructured the company and established a new Board of Directors. Jack prepared a new business plan and fundraising strategy and secured new grant income from trusts and foundations. (ACE, Esme Fairburn Foundation, NWDA, Manchester City Council). Jack established new exhibition programme and incubation projects, and instigated negotiations with City Council and prepared functionality brief for relocation to purpose built new premises. Jack also previously re-structured Prescap - establishing a new company structure and charitable status.

Jack Hale has worked in arts and cultural management for over 17 years and has also served as a Company Director of arts management companies including Object Studios, PRESCAP, Candella Films and Greater Manchester Community Arts Festival.
