Falling on buses is a concern for many older people and so Help the Aged have made this their theme for National Falls Awareness Day 2009, on 23rd June 2009

Help the Aged is calling on organisations and groups working with older people to consider holding an event to raise awareness of safety considerations on buses and the impact that falls can have. They have produced a template presentation and press release that groups can use which can be downloaded from their website below. TRU would be keen to hear from any groups who are planning to hold such an event.

Help the Aged is also keen to hear from anyone who has experienced a fall on a bus. If you or someone you know has experienced a fall on a bus, and would like to act as a case study, please e-mail them at: falls@helptheaged.org.uk with your experiences or fill out the form on their website.
