Project Towpath closes
A total of 64 small voluntary sector organisations in Greater Manchester have been funded to help unemployed people move a step closer to the labour market.
Under the Project Towpath programme, administered by GMCVO and funded by the Learning and Skills Council and European Social Fund, £637,000 in community grants were awarded to the groups to enable them to deliver innovative projects that guide unemployed people towards further learning opportunities and employment. These groups will reach over 2,000 participants, involving them in activities such as sewing, gardening and looking after chickens.
Following its final bidding round in January, Project Towpath has now closed to further funding applications.
