Richard Browning

Richard Browning:

Richard Browning has worked supporting communities in various roles for the voluntary sector, local government and recently for Voluntary Action Oldham. This includes extensive experience of community and neighbourhood learning, supporting communities to shape public services and facilitating community consultation processes based upon Participatory Action Research. This is supported by post-graduate qualifications in Community Practice and Lifelong Learning and a degree in Business Administration.

RB Communities:

Recently Richard established RB Communities, and in short, RB Communities facilitates the process of local communities researching local issues, developing solutions and improving their local community and offers innovative and unique approaches to:

  • Community engagement and cohesion.
  • Community empowerment.
  • Creative consultation.
  • Community learning.

RB Communities passionately believes communities contain the solutions to local issues and communities themselves should be directly involved in finding them.

Our work builds bridges between strategy and practice by offering a range of services from developing effective strategies to delivering creative consultation  workshops. When combined together, inclusive and powerful services and projects are possible.

In addition to providing advice and consultancy services, we offer inclusive products to the local voluntary, community and faith sector and local government.

  • Creative consultation and research, replacing traditional research methods with creative and exciting tools.
  • Community learning programmes building community representation skills and training local people to become community researchers.
  • Family and community focused learning programmes: 'KITEtastic' and 'Community Slime', for example.
  • Developing voluntary sector learning consortiums that are LSC compliant.
  • Facilitating planning and evaluation sessions.
