The Ambulance Service needs you (and your wheels ... )

If you are a car owner with a clean license and a few hours to spare each week, you could make a valuable contribution to the community and help ease the burden on the emergency services.

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) which moves nearly 750,000 patients each year, urgently needs more volunteer car service drivers to transport non-acute patients to and from local hospitals and clinics.

Most trips are done between 8am and 5pm weekdays, but drivers are sometimes needed for weekend calls. Fuel costs and additional expenses are refunded, and all volunteers are given training and kept in touch through regular meetings and newsletters.
