Building Success
Building Success is a free online self assessment toolkit to support the development of community design projects. These are community led projects to improve buildings or landscapes and are sometimes called capital projects.
Building Success is aimed at voluntary and community groups and people involved in the development of such projects whether from the voluntary, statutory or private sector.
The toolkit can be used at any time during the development of the project but the earlier you begin the better. It will enable you to identify potential risks and can be used repeatedly to review progress and keep your project on track.
Buiding Success is the legacy of The Best Practice in Community Design Project which finished in Septemeber 2008. It is based on 10 success factors that are central to community design projects.
Your project team can rate your progress against the success factors. The toolkit will then generate a report which visually highlights the factors that would benefit from attention.
Each success factor is explained and case studies provide you with inspiration. There are also tips and links and simple exercises to help you improve each factor.
