The Level 4 Award in Leadership & Management has been designed to give practising or aspiring middle-managers a solid foundation for their development.

It does this by helping candidates to appreciate the nature of the middle manager role in order to help them operate more effectively. It also enables candidates to examine how levels of motivation can be raised to improve performance in the workplace.

The qualification will also prepare candidates for the more rigorous demands of study at a higher level.

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding the nature and purpose of organisations
  • Stakeholders and their objectives
  • The management task
  • Management styles
  • The difference between management and leadership
  • The range of human behaviours
  • Theories of motivation
