Recognised courses are a useful way to achieve learning in this important area without the time constraints of completing assignments.
Through Skills Support for the Workforce, Greater Manchester, GMCVO is able to offer fully funded places for eligible learners.

Training the Trainer introduces new and experienced trainers to the tools, practices and theories of training and learning outlined above and other key principles to develop trainer knowledge and effectiveness in delivering their own training that best meets the needs of their learners.
The course includes;
- Introductions and icebreakers
- Learning theory, learning styles and principles of adult learning
- Designing your own resources, activities and materials
- Creating learning objectives and course outlines
- Learning aids and the learning environment
- Different types of training
- The learning cycle
- Theory of groups: their value and use in training
- Techniques of feedback
- Evaluation and personal action plans
Course objectives;
- To apply the theories of learning into the design and delivery of effective training in your workplace situations.
- To meet the needs of the learners through understanding group dynamics, and choosing the appropriate training tools and methods.
- To develop self-confidence in creating an effective learning environment for all your learners.

Eligibility Criteria for subsidy towards accredited training fees
- The learner’s workplace is based in Greater Manchester
- The learner’s organisation must employ fewer than 250 staff (when calculating the number of employees organizations should include all full and part-time employees plus any volunteers who are regularly providing eight hours of volunteering per week)
- The learner must be 19 years old or over.
- The learner must be a resident of England for 3 years or more.
- The learner must be employed or self-employed and working at least 8 hours per week, or be a regular volunteer with a signed volunteer agreement and consistently volunteering for 8 or more hours per week
- The learner does not already hold a trainer and/or teaching qualification at level 3 or above
- The learner has not previously accessed Skills Support for the Workforce funded training with GMCVO or any other training provider
Learners and organisations benefitting from the subsidised fee should understand that following commencement of the course, should the learner withdraw from the course either learner or the organisation will become liable to pay the full course fee.
