NHS service provider in Salford becomes independent social enterprise
On the 1st of April, Social adVentures began operating as one of the first NHS backed social enterprises commissioned to deliver innovative services in partnership with service users.
This transition has taken place under the government’s Right to Request programme, a scheme that allows NHS staff working on the frontline the opportunity to run services themselves.
Social adVentures, now led by staff, local people and those who use the centre, delivers a range of community based services to some of Salford's poorest communities. Working for a social enterprise, staff will have more control over how the service is run and those who use Social adVentures will have a say in what it delivers. As a result, the community hub is set to deliver what people and communities really need and benefit from.
