NICE at Heart of New NHS Commissioning Outcomes Framework

NICE will have a significant role in the development of indicators for the new Commissioning Outcomes Framework (COF) under proposals announced by the NHS Commissioning Board yesterday.

The NHS Commissioning Board is a new body that will be responsible for developing the COF.

The COF will aim to drive local improvements in quality and outcomes for patients. It will also hold clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to account for their progress in delivering these outcomes, and provide clear, publicly available information on the quality of healthcare services commissioned by CCGs.
