Transport strategy for Manchester city centre consultation
Manchester City Council and GMPTE, in consultation with Salford City Council, are developing a new transport strategy for Manchester city centre.
The need for a comprehensive strategy has been identified, to ensure that the transport network can support the significant economic growth forecast to 2020, and can support the delivery of the Strategic Plan for Manchester city centre. The draft strategy sets out a transport masterplan to provide the city centre with a world class transport system and make it a better place to live, work, invest and relax.
The consultation was launched on 11th January 2010 and runs until 22nd March 2010. It is envisaged that a final version of the strategy will be produced in the summer of 2010.
