First Bus launch cashless Voucher scheme aimed at learners and volunteers
First have introduced a cashless bus voucher scheme which is aimed to benefit organisations who may fund some kind of travel for either their learners or volunteers. The main principle of the scheme is to negate the need of funding by petty cash. They currently operate this scheme with many organisations who find it extremely helpful and easy to work with.
How does the voucher scheme work?
1. Organisation purchases a book of vouchers off First.
2. The voucher is issued to the learner for travel next time. (vouchers are dateless, so can be issued any time)
3. The voucher is handed to the bus driver who gives the person the relevant daily/weekly ticket.
Please find below the main features and benefits of the cashless bus voucher scheme.
1. Cashless scheme
2. Reduces the need to fund travel out of petty cash ( and hold large amount of cash on premises)
3. Reduces administration time
4. Provides a clear audit trail (internally & externally)
5. Ensures the learner/client can only use the voucher for travel and cannot be spent on other things
6. Encourages attendance ( person has means to travel)
7. The vouchers are dateless - can be used any time in the future
8. Bus prices do rise annually, so if vouchers bought pre price increase then there would be an added saving when prices rise
9. Staff can use vouchers when travelling from site to site
10. Discounted prices available
N.B The bus vouchers can only be used on First bus services only.
