NHS 'Big Society' schemes get the go-ahead

The Department of Health has given the go-ahead for the second wave of projects that give NHS staff a chance to take over and run the services they deliver as not-for-profit companies. The 15 projects which chime with Prime Minister David Cameron’s Big Society plans, for greater local control and ownership of public services, include a wide range of services like increasing access to psychological therapies, improving end of life care and a wider range of children services.
