Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation

Prizes for survival stories

Case studies of how voluntary and community groups from across the North West are adjusting to the new environment are invited by the Listen Value Invest campaign.
Led by Voluntary Sector North West (VSNW), the campaign aims to highlight the current issues being faced by the VCS and the wider communities it serves during this time of public sector spending cuts and de-centralisation of power.
VSNW is inviting local groups and local or regional infrastructure organisations from across the region to submit their stories, and is particularly interested in hearing how organisations are managing currently and if they are working in new ways or with new partners to deliver services.
To encourage a range of case studies, VSNW is offering four prizes for the most engaging stories:
• Two prizes of up to a day of filming and editing by People’s Voice Media for your organisation and story. They will make a short video which you can then show and publicise, and the film will also be added to the Listen Value Invest website;
• Two prizes of a Flip video camera for two organisations with the understanding that the winners will film at least one video each with them. VSNW will then arrange for these to be edited and added to the LVI website with your information and background to the story.
Submissions, of no more than 100 words, should be sent to helen.walker@vsnw.org.uk, or by post to: Helen Walker, Information Officer, VSNW, St Thomas Centre, Ardwick Green North, Manchester M12 6FZ.
The deadline for submissions is 10th February 2012.
