Delivery Partnership

The Greater Manchester's Hidden Talent programme is coordinated by Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO). In 2019 we commissioned Delivery Partners to identify and support hidden young people across all 10 Greater Manchester local authority areas.

Hidden young people have been supported through one-to-one, long and short-term key worker engagement that looks at the whole young person.

These key workers are called Talent Coaches.

All of the organisations providing Talent Coaches are embedded within the communities where they operate. They offer a range of community-based services and are well known to, and trusted by local residents.

From leading the GM Talent Match programme we know that these types of organisation can engage the hardest to reach young people: be it via word of mouth from their community contacts, prior knowledge of/engagement with these young people, or through links to other grassroots organisations.

For our full programme delivery from March 2019 - March 2021, our Delivery Partners employing Talent Coaches were:

Bury

Early Break

Bolton

Bolton Lads and Girls Club

Manchester

Manchester Young Lives

Oldham and Rochdale

Upturn Enterprise

Salford

The Broughton Trust

Stockport

Stockport Homes

Tameside

Reform Radio

Trafford

G-Force

Wigan

Groundwork Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside

Our partial funding extension means that Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Manchester Young Lives and the Broughton Trust will continue supporting young people from 1st April - 30th June 2021.

If you wish to refer a young person to GM's Hidden Talent, please see the referral contact details form attached at the bottom of this page.

All young people joining the programme will have an assessment of their overall circumstances which will include a mental health and well-being assessment.

During our full delivery of the programme we funded two mental health practitioners - employed by programme partner 42nd Street - to provide therapeutic sessions to young people who needed instant access to professional help.  Whilst this support was vital for some young people, we know that our remaining three Delivery Partners (working for the final three months of delivery from April - June 2021) are trained and experienced in supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing.
