The Greater Manchester's Hidden Talent programme is coordinated by Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO). We commission Delivery Partners to identify and support young people in Bury, Bolton, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford and Stockport.
Young people are supported through one-to-one, long and short-term key worker engagement that looks at the whole young person. These key workers are called Talent Coaches.
All of the organisations who provide Talent Coaches are embedded within the communities where they operated. They offer a range of community-based services and are well known to, and trusted by local residents.
From leading the GM Talent Match programme and Greater Manchester's Hidden Talent (March 2019 to June 2021) we knew that these types of organisation would be able to engage the hardest to reach young people: be it via word of mouth from their community contacts, prior knowledge of/engagement with these young people, or through links to other grassroots organisations.
