Delivery Partnership

The Greater Manchester's Hidden Talent programme was coordinated by Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO). In 2019 we commissioned Delivery Partners to identify and support hidden young people across all 10 Greater Manchester local authority areas.

Hidden young people were supported through one-to-one, long and short-term key worker engagement that looks at the whole young person.

These key workers were called Talent Coaches.

All of the organisations who provided Talent Coaches were embedded within the communities where they operated. They offered a range of community-based services and were well known to, and trusted by local residents.

From leading the GM Talent Match programme we knew that these types of organisation would be able to engage the hardest to reach young people: be it via word of mouth from their community contacts, prior knowledge of/engagement with these young people, or through links to other grassroots organisations.

For our full programme delivery from March 2019 - March 2021, our Delivery Partners employing Talent Coaches were:

Early Break

Bolton Lads and Girls Club

Manchester Young Lives

Oldham and Rochdale

Upturn Enterprise

The Broughton Trust

Stockport Homes

Reform Radio

Groundwork Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside

During our full delivery of the programme we funded two mental health practitioners - employed by programme partner 42nd Street - to provide therapeutic sessions to young people who needed instant access to professional help.
