Members of the GM VCSE Mental Health Leadership Group have formed an Equaltities group to ensure the different initiatives in this programme comply with the equalities agenda.
What they are doing
They have worked across the Family Support, Extended Hours and Digital Support initiatives to ensure equality is embedded around issues such as staff representation/recruitment, disability awareness, lived experience, LGBTQ+, acknowledge intersectionality and protected characteristics and non-English speakers.
The group helps shape wider learning from our experiences of other projects that have embedded equalities as part of their development and design of projects. They are working with the organisations involved in the programme to ensure that all service users/beneficiaries are protected under the Equalities Act.
