Annual General Meeting celebrates devolution in Greater Manchester

Two years ago Greater Manchester signed a historic devolution deal with the government taking charge of the £6bn spent on health and social care across all the area’s ten boroughs. Devolution means decisions about how to care for the 2.8m people who live in Greater Manchester are now taken in Greater Manchester – allowing local expertise, experiences and situations to shape health and care. Friday’s event is an opportunity to learn more about what this means and to see what has been achieved over the last two years across Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.

Local people are encouraged to attend to find out more about what’s happening in health and social care in the Rochdale borough as well as learning more about the work that has been undertaken throughout Greater Manchester as part of Devolution at a celebration event on Friday 15th June.

The celebration begins at 9am at Number One Riverside when exhibition stands and information displays will be set up in the ground floor foyer area. The Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale Clinical Commissioing Group's AGM will formally begin at 10am in the first floor training and conference suite. The celebration of GM devolution will follow at 11.15am.

Anyone wishing to attend the AGM and devolution event is asked to confirm their attendance by contacting the Communications Team via email at hmrcommunications@nhs.net or by calling 01706 652853.
