Our Talent Coaches would be the first to admit that induction / probation periods are two-way streets. Ultimately, young people need to create a good impression by showing dedication and professionalism. There are though, simple actions employers can make to give young people every chance to shine.
The world of work can be a confusing place for young people with limited or no experience of the workplace. Implicit rules and behaviours may not be obvious unless explained, and processes / systems for holidays, sickness, pay etc. can be misunderstood, leading to issues that could easily have been avoided.
Our Talent Coaches have many years' experience of providing in-work support to young people and will explain how to make all of the above clear to young people.
Recognising that not all young people arrive with a support worker in the background, this event will leave employers with simple advice that they can build into their inductions with new young starters.
