Greater Manchester’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy is already recognised as being the most co-owned and co-delivered of the many strategies and approaches that have come out of Greater Manchester Devolution, but more can be done. We are currently working with the Health and Wellbeing partnership to evolve the existing VCSE representation process within Greater Manchester Mental Health infrastructure. We want to embed more sector leadership and utilise the expertise that exists across the ten boroughs that make up Greater Manchester.
We have identified a potential structure that we believe can galvanise and mobilise the diverse VCSE sector’s within each borough, in order to address both locality developments and Greater Manchester cross cutting themes. We believe we need to build on existing structures and networks, but also be brave and construct those cross agency alliances where they don’t exist.
This will be a very different Mental Health VCSE Forum. It is an extraordinary general meeting and summit rolled into one. It is your opportunity to shape the direction of the next phase of VCSE’s role in the Greater Manchester’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy. You all have a voice, you all have expertise and you all have a bona-fide passion for this work. Please come along and use all three.
