CALM Connections are running parent peer mentoring workshops as a part of the Mental Health Surge project funded by Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership and facilitated by GMCVO.
Calm Connections is a CIC based in Trafford that provides support to families going through tough times. Part of their 1 to 1 support for parents is their peer mentoring scheme CALM Space, which provides parents and carer supporting young people with additional wellbeing needs, support from a parent who has similar lived experience. The Scheme has been running for over 2 years, and we would like to invite you to an event, where we can share our experiences and our learning.
The two hour workshop will provide you with the story of our journey through idea, recruitment, training, and delivery, as well as sharing our experiences of what went well and the challenges we faced during each stage. The workshop will also provide you the opportunity to consider what value peer mentoring and lived experience has in your organisation and what opportunities there to harness this approach to enrich and strengthen support provision.
The session will be facilitated by Emma Lenihan, CEO of Calm Connections and Rachel Valentine, L&D Lead.
