Ambition for Ageing is a project funded by the Big Lottery Fund which is trying to make Greater Manchester a better place to grow older in. Many older people are isolated; we want to create more opportunities for older people to take part in activities and get more involved in the places that they live in. In other words, we want more places in Greater Manchester to be ‘age-friendly’.
We have been running some activities and projects in 25 neighbourhoods across Greater Manchester so far but from April 2017 onwards, we are looking to expand our activities, and we have £2.5 million to help make this happen. We want to hear from as many people aged over 50 as possible to help us decide how this money is spent and to let us know what is important to you. The priorities and findings from this event will feed into the design of projects that this money will be spent on.

We want to hear from older people from a wide range of backgrounds to represent the diversity of communities living in Greater Manchester. If you are interested in coming along please click 'register now' at the top or bottom of this page.
We are grateful for all interest in this project; however, please note that if you are not aged over 50, you won’t be able to contribute to the discussions about your personal views, experiences and opinions, and we would really like to hear from as many older people as possible.
We will be writing up a full report on the priorities and findings that are learnt during this event, which will be shared publicly. We hope that the findings from these events will benefit individuals and organisations from across Greater Manchester, and maybe even beyond.
If you would like to hear more from Ambition for Ageing, including receiving this report, please join our mailing list. For this or any further questions, please contact Adele on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0161 277 1001.
