The Greater Manchester BAME Network will be holding its first online network meeting of 2021 on Thursday 11th March, 10am-12pm. You can register by clicking on the blue 'Register Now' button on the right.
This event takes place shortly after the recent Government announcements for the ‘roadmap’ out of Covid-19 lockdown; to the phased lifting of restrictions and the planned move towards a hopefully more normal situation by the summer. The event is split into two parts:
Part 1 explores current developments around Covid-19; the recovery, the related inequalities and the impact on the VCSE sector. We will be joined by Adrian Bates from GM Combined Authority and Alex Whinnom from GMCVO. We will have breakout sessions discussing potential barriers to Covid-19 vaccination uptake and for input on what BAME-led VCSE organisations need for recovery coming out of Covid.
In Part 2 we are looking to the future, with a series of 'Meet the Funder' mini-sessions from guest speakers representing a range of funders:
- BBC Children In Need Grants programmes
- The Baobab Foundation
- Comic Relief - Global Majority Fund for GM
- Comic Relief - Emergency Funds for GM
The full programme is attached underneath and can be accessed via this link.
The day before the event (Wednesday 10th March) you will receive the Zoom link to join the meeting.
Please note: attendance at network meetings is free for Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic individuals, and BAME-led voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations. Non-BAME individuals and non-BAME led organisations are very welcome to register, but you will be asked to pay a fee to guarantee your place at events throughout the year. This is to help cover the running costs of the network which does not receive any funding.
If you have not done so already, please follow this link to register for your free/paid place at network events throughout the year.
