GM Funders Forum briefing: Experiences of simple and flexible ways of funding community groups (GM Spaces Fund)

Registration is closed for this event
Lankelly Chase will be sharing their learning from the GM Spaces Fund.

In this online briefing session, Lankelly Chase will be sharing their learning from the GM Spaces Fund, a small grants fund that supported the creation of 39 spaces led by women and/or young people facing extreme marginalisation across Greater Manchester.

Throughout this programme the Spaces funded were telling them how different this fund felt and the impact that then had on their work within their communities, creating something that has started to bring out some profound changes for groups that haven’t always been able to access funding.

In the briefing, they will be sharing these experiences both from their own perspective of having set up and run the programme, and from those who were funded through it to start a conversation about exploring the creation of simplified and more flexible ways of funding community and grassroots groups across Greater Manchester.

This briefing will be led by Carrina Gaffney, from Lankelly Chase, and Paul Connery, a Lankelly Chase Associate in Greater Manchester.

More details of the GM Spaces fund can be found here.

And here is more on the spaces they funded.

The GM Funders Forum exists to enable independent grant makers, social investors and public sector funders to collaborate and coordinate programmes. These regular briefing sessions are a chance for members and other funders to hear more about topics relevant to them.
