Age-Friendly Places in Practice: The Value of Shared Spaces in Place-Based Working

Registration is closed for this event
The second in our online series of practice-based workshops.

Ambition for Ageing are excited to invite you to their series of online practice-based workshops on key issues for those developing age-friendly place-based work in localities across Greater Manchester as we emerge from Covid-19 restrictions.

There will be three workshops over the course of three weeks, with each being repeated to ensure everyone who wants to attend is able. You can attend just one or all three workshops.

  • Meeting the Challenge of Taking an Equalities Approach to Place-Based Work

  • The Value of Shared Spaces in Place-Based Working

  • Coproduction in Sustaining Age-Friendly Places

This workshop will cover the importance of shared spaces and social infrastructure, such as parks, community spaces and shops, in place-based working. We will draw from learning from the Ambition for Ageing programme, and our published reports Social Infrastructure: How shared spaces make communities work and Ageing in Place for Minority Ethnic communities.

The workshops are designed for anyone working to make neighbourhoods more age-friendly, including project managers, community development workers, or and neighbourhood volunteers.

During the workshops, there will be an opportunity to apply this learning in practice, hear from a relevant speaker, share your ideas with other practitioners, and to reflect on applying the learning to your own area.

This workshop is taking place on Wednesday 2nd June and Thursday 3rd June. Each session is a repeat so you only need to attend one.
