Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation

Commissioning Conversations Workshop

Please note the change of date - this event will take place Monday 24th June, not 25th June as initially advertised.

The GM VCSE Devolution Reference Group and the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership have commissioned a partnership of Bolton CVS, Mind in Greater Manchester, GMCVO and VSNW to ensure that the voluntary community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector plays a comprehensive role in commissioning both at a local and Greater Manchester level.

As part of a listening exercise with the VCSE sector about your experiences, GMCVO are holding a workshop on 24th June 1:30pm - 3:45pm at St Thomas Centre.

At the workshop we will be discussing:

  • Where commissioning has gone well
  • Where it hasn’t gone as well
  • What are the challenges and constraints you have experienced in being involved
  • What commissioning would look like in an ideal world

The information from this workshop will inform the development of a Greater Manchester Health and Care VCSE commissioning framework.

For many VCSE organisations their main experience of commissioning will be in applying for grants to deliver activities or services or applying to deliver tenders or contracts. We are interested in those experiences, but also your experiences of involvement in the full commissioning cycle which includes; assessment of needs, deciding priorities, design of services, market development, choosing providers, procurement, delivery and monitoring and evaluation.

Due to the popularity of this workshop, we are asking that only one representative per organisation attend.

If you are unable to attend or cannot get a place but would still like to participant, please click here to share your views and experiences on commissioning. Please note the survey closes on 9th June.
