Community enterprise

A community enterprise aims to deliver social outcomes (benefits) through its activities in a way that is financially sustainable. GMCVO can support the establishment and development of community enterprises through consultancy services.

Support includes raising awareness of self-employment as an option, clarifying aspirations, choosing the most appropriate organisational structure, exploring the business case, creating a relevant business plan, developing market awareness, identifying the resources needed and how to measure success.

We can work in partnership with your group as a consultant or one of our social enterprise mentors can support you to carry out this essential preparation; or you can learn how to do it and get a qualification at the same time through our 'ILM Level 3 Award in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship’ accredited training course.

In addition, we can undertake community consultation and engagement to identify what the unmet needs are and thereby stimulating interest from local people/groups to address those needs.
