Due North – Report of the Inquiry into Health Equity for the North

Due North is the report of an independent inquiry commissioned by Public Health England into health inequalities in the North.

It is acknowledged that the causes of health inequalities, which are closely linked with socio-economic disadvantage, are more severe in the North, and that austerity is making them worse.

The report details evidence on trends in health inequalities and flowing from this provides a set of recommendations.

Public Health England would like the views of voluntary organisations to contribute to the debate on the issues raised and recommendations made by the inquiry panel.

Your response will assist with planning an event in 2015 which will bring together panel members with interested organisations from all sectors to consider how to achieve a step-change in the health and wellbeing of communities across the North of England.

Please respond using the comments form provided to by 8th December 2014.
