Between July and November 2020 GM BAME Network gave out a total of £196,780.93 in grants to small GM BAME led VCSE organisations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in order to respond to the needs of BAME communities. GMCVO supported the administration of these grants.
These grants were funded by Comic Relief and the National Emergency Fund in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to additional funding allocated to the GM BAME Network, from Comic Relief and the National Emergency Fund, we are pleased to announce we have been able to open a second round of the grants programme.
Grants are available for GM BAME led VCSE organisations to focus on emergency needs within BAME communities. The grants will fund new activities and services as well as the additional costs of adapting existing services due to COVID-19. The grants will also help counter the loss of fundraising income directly caused by the pandemic.
The grants will be released in two ways.
From the beginning of August, micro grants of £50-£1000, with a short, online application form and decisions being made within three weeks of application. Applications for this round closed on Friday 30th October 2020 at noon and we published a list of recipients here in mid-December. On 24th November 2020 we launched round two of the micro grants (£50-£1000).
From the beginning of September, small grants of £1000-£3,000. Applications for this round closed on Tuesday 13th October at noon. Decisions were announced on 30th October and we published a list of recipients here in mid-November. On 18th December 2020 we launched round two of the small grants (£1000-£5000), applications close for this round on Friday 26th February 2021 at 16:00.
Organisations who have previously received a grant are eligible to apply for a new grant in the second round/s of programme.
If you want to apply for a grant, first of all you will need to register with our grants portal. Then you will need to fill in a short online application form telling us about your organisation, what you would like to do, what you would spend the funding on and who will benefit from your project.
