Employment

One of our core values is Equality, and we work to promote social, economic and political inclusion for all. We believe good employment is one way in which we can deliver our strategic aim of improving the quality of life for Greater Manchester people, and contributing to reduced inequalities between people and places.

GMCVO has delivered  a number of employment related projects aimed at supporting groups that face additional barriers to employment. These include the Hidden Talent programme that supports young people 'hidden' from existing services including education and Job Centre Plus services; and formally the Talent Match programme which worked with a similar cohort of young people that were not in education, employment or training. We delivered the Caring, Working, Living project  that supported  parents and carers who had been out of paid employment due to their parental and/or caring responsibilities; and Ambition for Ageing's Working Potential that supported pathways to employment for carers aged over 50 years old.

GMCVO is a member of the Good Employment Charter which aims to elevate employment standards in Greater Manchester, and also of the Real Living Wage campaign.
