18:00 - 19:30
Online - for residents in Burnage, Levenshulme, Longsight and Moss Side.
This is a one off taster session where you can find out more about Community Action Champions. This is a six week course, aimed at exploring how issues of prejudice, hate and extremism are affecting our communities, learning skills to have difficult conversations about these challenging topics, develop skills in problem solving and conflict resolution, and encourage and give voice to people about how they can be active and safe in challenging hateful narratives and polarising attitudes.
How to book / contact details:
People can sign up on Eventbrite.
People can also contact the Peace Foundation to register, or to ask for more information or ask any questions they have before the taster session: Email: email@example.com, or phone 01925 581231, and after listening to the recorded message from our founder Wendy Parry, please leave a message on our answer phone: we will get back to you.
Who is the event for:
The course is designed for those who are already active – or are thinking about getting involved – in community organisations, voluntary groups, residents’ associations, faith groups, political parties and other local initiatives – though anyone who is interested in this course as a ‘first step’ to such involvement would be most welcome.
