12:00 - 13:30
Join the NW Award Gap Group for their inaugural event on February 24th at 12:00 noon as we focus on learning and teaching interventions to impact BAME awarding gaps.
Chaired by Professor Andrew Ireland, the Panel members include Maisha Islam (University of Winchester), Zuleikha Chikh (Students Union President, University of Central Lancashire), and Sheree Palmer (University of Kent).
This first event will explore learning and teaching interventions that have had some success in having a positive impact on the BAME Awarding gap.
The workshop will be action-orientated and focus on changes to curriculum and learning and teaching practice that has led to enhanced inclusivity and attainment for students.
The NW Award Gap Group is a collective of academics from across North West Business and Law Faculties who share a common commitment to eliminating Award Gaps. We believe that through our shared endeavors we can make greater progress in the elimination of differential outcomes. Our aim is to work in partnership with students, academics, and professional service teams across the sector to ensure equality of opportunity for all students and the elimination of differential outcomes within our Faculties and Schools.
