10:00 - 11:00
The event is being hosted by The National Lottery Community Fund as part of our work to disseminate findings from the Ageing Better programme - a seven-year programme focussed on addressing isolation among older adults. Kaleidoscope Health and Care is working with the Fund to disseminate learning from this programme.
This event will bring together stakeholders to learn about the importance of and approaches to a warm welcome for older people.
Throughout the programme, older people have told us that being welcomed (or not!) to a community activity has a big impact on whether or not they will return. That’s why Ageing Better in Camden decided to explore what a warm welcome looks like, how it can help tackle social isolation and loneliness, and produce a toolkit which outlines the steps staff can take to ensure that older people feel welcome and valued.
We’ll hear from colleagues at The National Lottery Community Fund, Ageing Better in Camden and Time to Shine Leeds. There’ll also be lots of opportunities for discussion.
