Through GM AddVentures GMCVO encourages and hosts start-up community enterprises.
We provide the formal structure that aspiring entrepreneurs can ‘plug into’ so that they can concentrate on testing and growing their venture without needing to set up a new charity or company. As a member of GM AddVentures, projects operate under GMCVO’s governance, legal status and banking facilities.
Hosting and support for start-up community enterprises
Projects that grow can choose whether and when they set up as a legal entity and go independent. Equally, if initiatives find it difficult to get established or other opportunities arise the closure process is simple.
Why are we doing it?
Our intention is to make it easier for local people with ideas and skills to meet the needs of their community through ethical trading. By providing the structure, we enable social entrepreneurs to focus on developing their services, products and marketing to ensure their idea is a success.
We know that systems of mutual support are a fundamental element of a vibrant ecosystem for social enterprise (SE). GM Addventures helps new organisations access support and resources to become strong and successful independent entities.
