GMCVO project, Caring, Working, Living aims to support people with caring responsibilities who are looking to return to work (Returners) to increase their confidence and self-esteem in relation to returning to paid employment and to improve their understanding of the skills that employers are looking for.
We know that updating CVs, completing application forms and attending job interviews can seem intimidating, especially for people who have been out of work for a while. Altum HR are one of 56 employers involved in the project and have put together a video offering support to Returners; to help think about transferable skills and key competencies that can be generic across multiple job roles.
The video aims to help job seekers think about their own transferable skills, what they can bring to a workplace and how to showcase this on a CV and during job interviews.
An accompanying document has also been created to keep alongside you whilst viewing the video, including key contact information and a list of identified competencies (see below).
