The Charity Tax Commission is investigating whether charitable tax reliefs could be used more strategically to produce better outcomes for beneficiaries. This is a chance to influence the commission’s recommendations before it is too late.
Tax reliefs for charities are estimated to be worth £3.77bn a year, the main ones being business rates relief, Gift Aid and VAT relief. But are the right charities benefiting?

The Commission would like to hear from local organisations and people including VCSE and faith organisations and businesses, researchers and councillors.
A public evidence session planned for Greater Manchester has unfortunately been cancelled due to low numbers, but you can still have your say via the Charity Tax Commission web page.
