Developing Trauma Responsive Communities: VCFSE Grant Outcomes

Trauma can impact every element of life and can affect a person’s ability to engage in society meaningfully.

During 2021-2023, GMCVO delivered a grant programme on behalf of the Trauma Responsive Greater Manchester initiative that aims create a co-ordinated multi sector approach to reduce individual and community exposure to trauma.

Funded by the Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit, eleven Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations were awarded grants totalling £171,379 to deliver a strategic programme to improve trauma awareness and responsiveness in Greater Manchester. All the work delivered was co-produced with people who have lived experience of trauma.

The programme ended in March 2024, but the work delivered has produced a wealth of resources and leaves a legacy far beyond the programme’s lifetime.

You can read more about the organisations involved, the work delivered and the resources produced in our outcomes report.
