GMCVO is running a short-term targeted project to produce recommendations for reducing cancer-related inequalities in Greater Manchester.
As part of this, we are gathering existing data on inequalities for marginalised groups, with regard to:
Levels of risk; levels of community awareness; involvement in trials; screening uptake; speed of diagnosis; waiting times; experience and adequacy of care, treatment and support; clinical outcomes; and opportunities for training, engagement and voice within the cancer system.
We are equally interested in evidence of good practice and successful initiatives for reducing inequalities for specific groups. Sources can be local, regional, national or international.
We are able to contribute to people’s time to help us with this exercise.
Please get in touch if you will be able to locate data for any of the following groups:
Men / Women * Children & young people * Older people * Communities experiencing racial or faith-based inequalities * Economically deprived communities * People with learning disabilities * People with mental health conditions * People with physical or sensory impairments * Neurodiverse people * People who are homeless * People with substance dependency * Refugees, asylum seekers and others with insecure migration status * LGBTQIA+ communities * Former members of the armed forces
The deadline for this phase of work is 31st January 2022.
