Following the adoption of the Greater Manchester Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy in Spring 2016, a Greater Manchester VCSE Health & Social Care Assembly on Mental Health was convened by GMCVO on Tuesday 25th July 2017
The aim of this Assembly event was to examine the key developments which have occured following the adoption of the above strategy and to identify what the VCSE sector could do to influence and shape the Mental Health and Wellbeing agenda in Greater Manchester going forward. This included the formation of a mental health and wellbeing “forum” for VCSE and faith groups to steer the implementation of the strategy and provide guidance to the MH Investment Board.
Chaired by Jim Battle, former chair of the Greater Manchester Mental Health and Wellbeing Board, the key speaker at the event was Zulfi Jivi, Head of Cross Cutting Programmes at the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care partnership.
