GMCVO and Manchester City Council have created a pre-employment opportunities website for young people.
M-EET Your Match specifically targets young people aged 16-24 in Manchester who are not in education, employment or training.
The site is now live and more opportunities are being added weekly. It was co-developed by the GM's Hidden Talent Youth Panel, so that the design, content and additional information reflect young people’s priorities for how the site should look and feel. The Youth Panel were instrumental in ensuring M-EET Your Match is easy to navigate, meaning young people and their advocates can find all the information they are looking for.
M-EET Your Match lists volunteering opportunities, educational courses, work placements, life and employment skills courses, and Level 2 apprenticeships.
All of these can be searched by category. Information about where an opportunity is based, how long it will last, who it suits and if there is a deadline, can be found on the site.
Young people, or people who are acting on their behalf, can register an interest in any of the opportunities and arrange for the provider to contact them via email, text or phone with more details.
Providers with relevant pre-employment opportunities (the site will not host job opportunities other than Level 2 apprenticeships) can also upload their own openings onto the website by filling in the online form.
