GMCVO has today become one of nine new employers to be accepted as members of the GM Good Employment Charter.
The aim of the Good Employment Charter is to improve employment standards across the city region. These improvements include measures such as paying the real living wage, implementing flexible working options, and adopting fair recruitment practices.
We are joined by the following employers who have moved from ‘Supporters’ to ‘Members’ of the Charter; The Co-op Bank, KPMG, Macc, Michael Page, Peel L&P, Pozzoni Architects, Unlimited Potential and William Hare Ltd.
We are proud to be achieving membership status due to our commitment to employment excellence, having demonstrated that we meet the criteria in all seven characteristics of good employment, which are:
• Secure work
• Flexible work
• Real living wage
• Engagement and voice
• People management
• Health and wellbeing
Organisations from all sectors can sign up as Supporters, with the goal of becoming Members. You can also sign up to the Charter’s Supporters’ Network, which asks employers to commit to improve practice and helps them to access appropriate support and resources.
