Greater Manchester is proud to accommodate and support individuals with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) as part of A Bed Every Night. This gives people the opportunity to have somewhere safe to stay and receive support to regularise their status and find stable accommodation. As part of Greater Manchester's response to Covid-19, the 'A Bed for Every Night' orgramme has protected people from rough sleeping and destitution, irrespective of immigration status. The Government's proposal to resume evictions for those with a negative decision at a time when the risks of Covid-19 and of rough sleeping and destitution remain is therefore of great concern
This week, the Mayor of Greater Manchester and the leaders of all 10GM Councils have written to the Home Secretary to convey their concern at this proposal and to make clear their view that the Government must not resume evictions for those with a negative decision at a time when the risks of Covid-19 and of rough sleeping and destitution remain.
