As part of a research project funded by The British Academy, in partnership with the Nuffield Foundation, we are hosting a workshop for organisations in Rochdale to find out how people in the community seek advice and support on social welfare (legal) issues. We are especially keen to hear from people from organisations providing information and advice, and those helping people within the community to access advice.
This workshop, co-organised with the Economic Support Network hosted by Action Together, will focus on identifying the work of local community and identity-based organisations (as well as the contributions of regional and national organisations), and exploring challenges faced by those organisations and the people that come to them for help. The aim of this work is to propose solutions to policy-makers, to improve access to advice, and to improve the well-being, equality and connectedness of local communities.
