Our new portfolio highlights the different ways the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector is creating a fairer and more inclusive economy in Greater Manchester by providing good employment.
This means providing jobs that are, not only fairly paid, but also provide security and wellbeing at work - in many cases employing people who may face additional barriers to entering the job market.
Good employment is not a privilege but a right. To create an inclusive economy in Greater Manchester it is vital that people are paid fairly for their work, treated appropriately and that opportunities are truly open to all. This will support the region’s economy and produce organisations that are effective at the heart of it*.
Part 3 of this portfolio series profiles 4 VCFSE organisations who are providing good employment by providing secure and flexible work with decent pay, opportunities to engage and be heard, inclusive recruitment, good management and consideration of health and wellbeing.
This portfolio series is produced by GMCVO on behalf of the Inclusive Economy working group of the GM VCFSE Leadership Group. This is working towards the commitments of the GM VCSE Accord.
The first and second parts of this portfolio demonstrated how the sector is creating an inclusive economy through Community Ownership and the ‘Just Transition’ towards Net Zero.
