Inclusion Grants to support d/Deaf and Disabled people

THIS GRANTS ROUND HAS NOW CLOSED

We have launched the second year of Inclusion Grants to support d/Deaf and Disabled people grants programme following a successful first pilot year of the grants.

We are seeking applications from voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations, working in Greater Manchester, for the benefit of Greater Manchester residents, to encourage a change in the narrative around disability by improving accessibility and inclusion for d/Deaf and disabled people.

This is the second year of this strategic grant programme, funded by GM Integrated Care Partnership, as part of the implementation of the recommendations from The Greater Manchester Mental Wellbeing & Disability Report. It is important you have read this report before submitting an application:

For more information about the first year of the Inclusion Grants to support d/Deaf and Disabled people please read our Year One impact summary report, where you can see the different projects delivered, what worked and the challenges faced in these pilot projects.

We expect to fund around six organisations with grants of £7,500 - £15,000 to develop 9-12 month projects that will raise awareness of, and lead to change in the way that services, policies, practices, activities and events are created for d/Deaf and/or disabled people, beginning in September 2024.

This is a strategic grants programme.

We are asking potential applicants to provide proposals for innovative projects which will encourage, embed or increase good practice around:

  • Listening to Deaf and/or disabled people and including them in the co-creation of services, policies, practices, events and activities.

  • Joining up services so support is offered holistically, ensuring it is tailored to the need and preferences of the individual.

  • Removing any ‘one size fits all’ approaches.

  • Improving support for Deaf and/or disabled people wanting to take on volunteering opportunities.

Ideal projects will be designed and led by d/Deaf and/or disabled people. If your project is not designed and led by d/Deaf and/or disabled people then d/Deaf and/or disabled people must be involved in all stages of the development and delivery.

Your organisation may work Greater Manchester-wide or in a specific location in any of the ten localities.

Further information:

We have created a guidance document that provides key information about the fund and who it’s aimed at, to help organisations decide whether or not to apply, what an application entails and what we’re looking for in a strong application. We advise you to read this before you put together your application form to help in the responses and understand what the panel requires in the application.
