An insight into child development in GM two years after devolution

Jon Rouse, Chief Officer at Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, joined Manchester University alumni to speak about devolution. Reflecting on Greater Manchester’s trailblazing journey, two years after the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership took control of the city’s £6bn health and social care budget, he gave insight into what this means for children and young people in the region.

As well as exploring the wider historical, economic and political landscape that has shaped the particular health and social care challenges faced by this client group, Jon Rouse spoke about other topics including the establishment of the Children’s Health and Wellbeing board, investment in children and adolescent mental health, children’s oral health and the work being done to empower young people to shape plans and programmes in the future.
