IVAORG CIC launch blog offering debt advice

IVAORG are a Trafford-based Community Interest Company (CIC) operating across Greater Manchester, whose purpose is to assist individuals who are struggling with the problems associated with overburdening debt. GMCVO were delighted to be able to support IVAORG through our GM Social Investment fund ‘Access to Growth’, back in December 2018. IVAORG received £50,000 from the fund, which has increased their capacity and allowed them to accelerate their not-for-profit insolvency practice. You can read the full case-study via this link.

Over the past twelve months IVAORG has received over one thousand calls to their free debt helpline and just over half of that number have chosen to undertake an in-depth financial consultation. This is crucial as it is one of the first steps towards becoming debt free.

Iain Wrenshall of IVAORG said “The investment from GMCVO has been absolutely crucial in helping us establish our new not-for-profit personal insolvency practice, which is now making a real difference to lives of some of the North West’s most vulnerable families. With the true financial impact of COVID 19 still looming, IVAORG is well placed to provide much needed free debt help, advice and support to the whole community”.

Recently, IVAORG have started a blog. Its main purpose is to offer guidance and clarity to anyone who is thinking of entering into an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) as a formal debt solution. Crucially, IVAORG recognise that IVAs are just one solution from a whole range of different options.  The blog isn’t about trying to ‘sell’ you an IVA; it’s about empowering an individual to make an informed decision of their own.
