No Going Back – State of Social Enterprise Survey 2021

Social Enterprise UK (SEUK) have published the results of their 2021 state of the social enterpise sector survey.

The report shows that in spite of the challenges of the pandemic, social enterprises are delivering economically, environmentally and socially:

- 47% are under five years old
- 44% grew their turnover over the last year
- 74% made a profit of broke even in the last year
- 66% introduced a new product of service in the last year 

- 47% are led by women
- 72% are a Living Wage employer
- 31% have directors from BAME backgrounds
- 22% operate in the most deprived areas of the UK

- 84% believe that buying socially responsible/environmentally friendly products is as important, or more important  than cost
- 20% are addressing the climate emergency as part of their core mission
- 67% have, or plan to have tackling climate change into their constitution/articles of association
